Unfortunately client confidentiality is very important in search engine work so little of that appears on this page. My search engine optimisation work is based on modifying existing websites to make them more user friendly and accessible.
I'm interested in PHP security and coding too. The projects that will appear on this page in the future will tend to be PHP based sites that do something a little out of the ordinary.
Weldequip - Online Shop

Weldequip have been selling welding and cutting equipment for nearly 20 years from their real world store. When they asked me to help with an on-line shop I found none of the current software to my liking. Most software loaded very slowly, and few managed even a basic level of search engine optimisation. The Weldequip shop was custom built and will load in less than a second. From the visitor's point of view it already has more features than most other online shops. |
ThermoTun-Online (A Front End for Tunnel Design Software)

Thermotun Online predicts air pressures and velocities caused by trains in tunnels. It is an online tool that enables controlled use of the industry leading ThermoTun software over the internet. The challenge to design a web interface for an existing Windows program was overcome with a combination of PHP and Windows command line operations on a dedicated Windows server. |

We redesigned the 350 page website to improve usability and to allow the client to perform updates on the website in the future without the need to employ a designer. |

Homan Tyre is a family run garage established on the same site on Kempston High Street, Bedford for more than 30 years. They wanted a simple but professional website to attract customers searching searching for garages in Kempston. |
Waste Matchers

The Waste Matchers is a forum where members can advertise their waste materials rather than sending them to landfill. |
- This database based site enables visitors to register as members and add 'for sale' or 'wanted' adverts. It makes extensive use of Javascript while still meeting WAI Accessibility Level 'A' Standards.
- The site is controlled by a powerful administration section where administrators approve new entries before they can be viewed by the public.
Assured Information Systems - Promotional mini CD

Assured Information Systems specialises in software applications for the pharmaceutical industry. They asked VORD Web Design to prepare a promotional CD containing detailed information about their products and services. |
- An auto-start function opens the index page, then the CD functions in much the same way as a web site. All pages were written in html.
- The CD features narrated video demonstrations showing the software in use. The videos are stored in Macromedia Flash format, and a Flash player was included on the CD.
